Prepare Your PRFM
Your provider prepares PRFM from a small blood sample, creating platelet-rich support for your skin.

Your provider uses the SkinPen microneedling device to create tiny, controlled channels in the skin. These channels signal your natural repair process and create a pathway for PRFM to support deeper skin renewal.
PRFM, or platelet-rich fibrin matrix, comes from your own blood. Your provider applies it with microneedling to support collagen renewal and healthier-looking skin.

PRFM microneedling may be a good option if you’re looking to improve acne scars, uneven skin texture, fine lines, wrinkles, enlarged pores, or early signs of aging. By combining microneedling with your body’s own platelet-rich fibrin matrix, this treatment enhances your skin’s natural healing response and supports collagen production. It’s an excellent choice for patients who want a more regenerative approach to skin rejuvenation than microneedling alone.

Your aesthetician cleanses the treatment area and applies lidocaine cream to help keep the SkinPen microneedling treatment more comfortable.
After SkinPen microneedling treatment, your provider applies PRFM to the treated skin. Before you leave, we review recovery and home care. Our team provides all patients with aftercare products.

PRFM and PRP are related, but they are not exactly the same. PRP stands for platelet-rich plasma, while PRFM stands for platelet-rich fibrin matrix. At Roots of Nature Aesthetic & Wellness, we choose to use PRFM over PRP for our vampire facial in Lee’s Summit because it releases growth factors over several days rather than all at once and has a fibrin matrix to hold platelets in place.
Recovery usually takes about 5 to 7 days, though timing varies by patient and treatment area. Your skin may look red, feel sensitive, or appear dry as it settles. If you’re planning a vampire facial in Lee’s Summit around work, travel, or an event, we’ll help you think through timing.
Yes. Before your vampire facial in Lee’s Summit, our team may recommend avoiding harsh exfoliants or active products, depending on your skin. After treatment, keep your skin protected, hydrated, and away from direct UV exposure while it recovers.
